Conservation Officer

He holds a Master’s degree in Natural Resources and Governance from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad, with a strong foundation in sustainable development, forest governance, and community-based natural resource management. His work reflects a deep commitment to inclusive conservation, policy research, and grassroots empowerment.

Currently serving as a Conservation Officer with the Forest Owlet Conservation Project at WRCS in Madhya Pradesh, he is involved in ecological monitoring, species tracking, stakeholder coordination, and awareness-building initiatives. Prior to this, he conducted a mid-term assessment of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) implementation in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, evaluating socio-economic impacts of institutional interventions.

His conservation experience includes internships with IORA Ecological Solutions focusing on Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) and with the Foundation for Ecological Security (FES), where he applied IFRI frameworks and PRA tools for carbon stock analysis and forest dependency studies.

In addition to his conservation work, he has experience in sales and marketing. His skill set spans project management, participatory research, policy analysis, GIS, data analysis, and environmental impact assessment (EIA). His interests lie at the intersection of biodiversity conservation, climate finance, and local governance aiming to integrate nature-based solutions with indigenous knowledge systems.

Outside of work, he enjoys travelling, exploring new places, and playing cricket and badminton.
