On 29th July 2025, in celebration of International Tiger Day, the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department extended special recognition to WRCS for its impactful work on wild elephants in Bandhavgarh and the critically endangered Forest Owlet in the Khandwa and Burhanpur Divisions.
During the event, the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, and the Hon’ble State Forest Minister, Shri Dilip Ahirwar, ceremoniously unfurled a poster highlighting the importance of the Forest Owlet, based on WRCS’s long-term research and conservation efforts. The poster was formally presented to the Chief Minister by Mr. Subha Ranjan Sen (PCCF Wildlife), Mr. Aseem Shrivastava (PCCF HOFF), Mr. Krishnamoorthy (APCCF Wildlife), and Dr. Prachi Mehta from WRCS.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister expressed keen interest in the rarity and ecological significance of the Forest Owlet, initiating a thoughtful dialogue on its conservation. WRCS extends its sincere gratitude to Mr. Aseem Shrivastava and Mr. Subha Ranjan Sen for their pivotal role in bringing this species to the attention of the Chief Minister and for championing its protection.
