Rahul holds a Master’s degree in Forestry (Agroforestry) from Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry, Ranichauri. For his Thesis, he worked extensively on agroforestry systems, evaluating vegetable productivity and farmer perceptions in the Saklana Valley of Uttarakhand. He has gained diverse field experience through internships and volunteer work with the Global Tiger Forum, 51A Wildlife Conservation & Research Foundation, and the Wildlife Institute of India, where he contributed to socio-economic and ecological surveys, human–elephant conflict studies, biodiversity monitoring, and community-based conservation planning across both Himalayan and Central Indian landscapes. He has also authored several book chapters and articles on agroforestry, wildlife conflict, and climate change adaptation. He has also qualified for ASRB NET 2023. Alongside research and fieldwork, Rahul has undertaken specialized training, including the Green Skill Development Programme (GSDP) on Forestry Acts & Policies, and short courses at the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, on enterprise skills for conservation and the Green Credit Programme. Skilled in ecological surveys, GIS mapping, and community engagement techniques such as PRA and FGDs, he combines technical expertise with a strong understanding of social dimensions in conservation. Beyond his professional work, he enjoys trekking in the Himalayas, meeting new people, and learning about diverse cultures, and is passionate about integrating ecological research with community participation to foster sustainable conservation practices
