
Project Officer Position
WRCS is currently carrying out a project for mitigation of human elephant conflict and habitat restoration in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve landscape in Madhya Pradesh. WRCS invites applications for two field-based opportunities for the position of Project Officer in Madhya Pradesh under its ongoing conservation initiatives. These are full-time contractual roles involving extensive fieldwork and community engagement.
Positions and Focus Areas:
1. Project Officer – Study of Agroforestry potential (1 position)
Study of productivity, economics, suitability and people’s perceptions of agroforestry models in forest fringe villages.
2. Project Officer – Human-Elephant Conflict Mitigation (1 position)
Will support the deployment of conflict mitigation tools, field data collection, and community coordination in elephant-affected areas.
Requirements for the position:
Master’s degree in Forestry / Wildlife Science / Ecology / Botany / Environmental Science and related fields or Master’s in Social Work (MSW).
Desirable:
Relevant field experience; physically fit for fieldwork in remote areas; strong communication skills; willingness to travel extensively.
Location:
Positions will be based in Bandhavgarh tiger reserve and North Shahdol forest division of Madhya Pradesh.
Remuneration:
Remuneration will be according to the qualification and earlier experience in similar work.
