Opportunity for position of Project Officer on Koyna Reforestation Project
About Project
WRCS has been carrying out a project for reforestation of private forests in the Koyna river valley in Northern Western Ghats of Maharashtra (https://www.wrcsindia.org/koyna-chandoli) for many years. There is an opportunity for a position of Project Officer on the Koyna project for a period of one year on contractual basis. The contract may be renewed at the end of the period.
Requirements for the position
Qualification: M.Sc. in forestry or botany.
The applicant should be knowledgeable about various aspects of forest restoration, plantation, vegetation assessment and forest research.
The applicant should have the following qualities:
• Dynamic personality and willing to work with the community.
• Interested in forest conservation.
• Young and physically fit to work in hilly terrain for long hours.
• Willing to stay in the project area in basic conditions.
• Ability to speak and write in Marathi will be an advantage.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be according to the qualification and earlier work experience in similar project.
