Short term internship in Pune Tree Cover Project

Wildlife Research and Conservation Society (WRCS) is a Pune-based non-profit NGO engaged in wildlife and ecological research (www.wrcsindia.org).
WRCS is collaborating with Pune Knowledge Cluster (PKC) on the Pune Tree Cover project. Four short term internship positions are available on this project at our Pune office.
Job Description
Through this project, the growth of trees in Pune is being monitored. The intern will be expected to visit various areas of the city, locate trees according to the list of trees provided, and measure the diameter, height and other tree parameters.
The work will involve extensive traveling within Pune City. Pune-based candidates will be preferred.
Duration
The position is for a period of 3 months on contractual basis, which can be extended later.
Educational qualification
A B.Sc. degree in Botany is preferred.
Essential requirements
The intern should be able to identify names of trees based on their appearance. The intern is expected to travel by personal two-wheeler for the project work and will be paid an allowance for the same. Physical fitness is important, since the intern needs to travel extensively within the city and has to monitor trees on the hills within the city. The applicant must have a personal two-wheeler for traveling around the city, to be considered for selection.
Remuneration
A suitable stipend will be paid for the duration of the internship.
