Project Officer for Tiger Conservation Project in Melghat Landscape
Melghat Tiger Reserve is an important Protect Area for tiger conservation on border of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. WRCS is a partner in the ITHCP (Integrated Tiger Habitat Conservation Program) tiger conservation project in Maharashtra and will implement the project in buffer zone of Melghat Tiger Reserve. The project involves extensive work with the local community to implement measures for sustainable lifestyles and livelihood development.
Duration of the project: 2 years
Essential requirements: Young and physically fit individual. Should have good understanding of wildlife conservation issues. Should be enthusiastic and capable of working with village community. Ability to read, write and communicate in English, Hindi and Marathi is desirable. Knowledge of GIS will be an added qualification. The program officer will be responsible for writing detailed reports in English and carrying out data analysis. We are looking forward to working with an even tempered person with a passion for conservation and forest life, having good management and organizational skills and capable of delivering results on time . Should be able to work and stay in remote places alone and also capable of working with a team. The project will involve extensive travel on a motorbike so possession of a 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler driving license is required. Since the project duration is for 2 years, only those who can commit for the entire duration should apply. Emoluments will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
