Program Officer for Outreach and Extension
WRCS is working on a long-term basis on elephants in Karnataka, owls in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and tigers in Maharashtra. At each project site, we are working actively with local communities living in the area and involving them as custodians of the species and habitat. As a part of our conservation awareness programs, we have established self-help groups in villages. The self-help groups are being trained in making simple handicraft items which are marketed in the cities and the proceeds of the sale are directed to the SHGs. We are looking for young and creatively inclined person to join us as Program officer on a long-term basis. Since the work involves working with women in the villages, this post is suitable for females. The work involves traveling to project sites, training the women, developing simple craft items, networking and marketing them in cities. This is a long-term opportunity and therefore applicants residing in Pune will be most suitable. The applicant should be able to ride a two-wheeler and must have a license for the same.
